Way to go Canada!
Wow, what a way to end the Olympics today. With Canada playing the US for the Men's Hockey for gold was just amazing. The game was super exciting but then to see and hear the crowds after Sidney Crosby scored the winning goal in overtime... priceless! The whole city was so alive, it was unbelievable! We watched the game from our place, and up on the 23rd floor, we could hear the roars and the crowds and woo's and yahoo's from all over. What a really really neat experience.
The rest of the afternoon was just buzzing, we had to go for a walk to embrace it all! People were just everywhere, in their red and white, high-fiving one another, waving their flags, and just smiles everywhere... it was pretty cool. We even saw a few spontaneous ball hockey games break out in the middle of the streets... how Canadian! We did not attempt to even try Robson and Granville Street... it looked like pure madness (way to go Steve and Cherie who tried walking around in that mayhem!)
Ahhh and now it's all over... pretty fun times for sure. Glad Vancouver got the opportunity to host... it was pretty great overall.
And way to go Canada on winning 14 gold medals... most ever gold medals in any Winter Olympic Games... we kick butt!
