Farmer's Market
This morning we made a trip out to the local farmer's market. Thanks to Sandra for mentioning it in her blog. Usually they have the farmer's market throughout summer, and have decided to try it out for the winter (indoors!). It's held at Wise Hall on Adanac Street (by Victoria), on the first sunday of every month during November to April. More info here: http://www.eatlocal.org/wfm_11_4.htm
It was packed with people! They even had to form a line outside (luckily they supplied some canopies for people since it was pouring rain!).
We went inside to look around and bought something at nearly every vendor! Rookies, I know! We went with friends, Chris and Selma, so they gave us hints on the best places for the fish and veggies. We ended up buying organic apples, frozen blueberries, some delicious frozen Thai yellow curry sauce, Ethiopian chicken marinade, Curry Currant Homous, and fresh wild salmon fillets! We're set for November! Next one is December 2nd :)
Go and check it out next time, and remember to try and bring your own grocery (plastic) bags to fill it with all the fresh local goodies!
