Christmas
Lily's first Christmas! It was fun hanging out and celebrating Christmas with family and the girls. On Christmas morning, Grandpa Bear & Grandma Pat came over for breakfast and then we opened our gifts. Nora loved opening the pressies... she helped Lily with all of hers, as well as most of ours. I am very excited about my new little camera (point and shoot) that I can take with me when I take the girls out... without having to bring the big slr... plus it takes great quality videos... whoo hoo!
Then we were off to my parents for the weekend. There were 18 people for dinner and it was such a feast! Everyone contributed toward the meal and it all worked out amazingly and just so delicious. Special thanks to Uncle Ronny for making the 20lb turkey and Grandma Pat for making the ham! It was great that mom and dad were able to fit two dining tables in the room so that we could all sit and enjoy the meal together.
Lily had been battling a cold / fever all week so she was pretty much done after dinner. Luckily, she went to bed okay and slept through most of the night... or at least was able to sleep through all the chitter chatter. She was a trooper, trying to stay awake during dinner and didn't really make too much of a fuss. Always so hard to see your little one so sick... but it didnt' stop her from having a great Christmas... she loved the attention and watching Nora and Megan play tea party all weekend long! :)
It's always fun staying over at my parents with everyone. Nora and Megan play so well together and are just so cute! It's always busy, but at least whenever we're there, there's 6 adults and 3 kids... so we can at least try and be in control. Although, it seemed every time, we sat down at the table for a meal, one or two of the kids had to go to the potty... and it's never a quick thing, there are always books, multiple books involved. At one point, I think dad was left sitting by himself at dinner while everyone took turns with a different kid :)
The past couple days have been nice lazy days... really doing nothing but hanging out and watching Nora play with her new toys and books. I did get a little cabin fever today, so luckily it wasn't raining out and we managed to take Nora out to the park while we stroller napped Lily. And thankfully, I really have no desire to tackle the mall or stores for any boxing week shopping... or not yet at least.. I guess it is only Tuesday night!
But it has honestly been so nice to have Trav at home this week to hang out with me and the girls. We don't have to do much, just the time to get stuff done around the house while the other can entertain or look after the kids. I'm loving the family time... and we have family in town this week, so Nora and Lily are just so excited to see and spend time with their grandparents. Gotta just love the holidays!
