Nora's Pumpkin
The other night we had a joint family effort in carving Nora's pumpkin (the one she picked at the pumpkin patch). We thought she'd be more interested in trying to put her hand inside to take the guts out, but she politely declined with a 'no' while Trav cleaned the pumpkin all out.
She helped in creating the outline for the face, well sort of, I did the face outline, she just added flare and squiggles. Then it was back off to dad for the carving part.
When it was all done, we lit it up with a tealight candle with all the lights out and then asked Nora what she thought, at which point, she broke out into the 'Happy Birthday' song to the pumpkin :). She associates any cake or candle with birthdays, hee hee.
At the end of the night before going for her bath, she managed to blow the candle out and was quite happy with herself for accomplishing that... pretty cool, I can't wait for the next family birthday when she can help blow out the candles!
