Nora's first trip to Mexico!

Hola! We're back from Playa Del Carmen and just had the best time. The last minute deal worked out really well (no time to stress, just go go go), so by the time we got there, we were ready to rest and relax! Nora was such a good girl on the flights, especially the one on the way to Cancun. She would smile and wave to just about anyone that was willing to wave and smile back to her. She'd really try to go out of her way (ie lean across and around the seats) to catch someone's eye and just wait for them to look at her. The moment they looked and smiled, you could just see her face lift with a big glowing smile back. She made everyone on the plane really happy. It made the 6 hour flight not seem too long b/c she was definitely keeping us entertained.

The week was pretty much sitting by the pool hanging out. Trav decided to shave all his hair off to fully enjoy the sun and spent a lot of time in the waves boogie boarding! He and his dad just love the water and could stay in there all day if they could. Nora got her first swim in the pool which was exciting and dipping her toes in the ocean was okay... she could take it or leave it, no one way or the other.

The condo's where we were staying (Xaman Ha) were a five minute walk to 5th Avenue (the main street in Playa). Nora realllly loved 5th Avenue - so much to see - and all those people she could smile and wave to! She was quite the centre of attention and loved every bit of it! It was the first time that I tried to Ergo (backpack) her using the hip and the back position. She definitely loved facing out to see what was going on... we would just use the normal front position (face in) for her naps.

Overall, Nora did really well. Unfortunately she didn't sleep very well at night but for her it was her way of getting to sleep with mom and dad :). But it didn't affect her daytime - everyday she was such a happy girl just cruising along everywhere, smiling, loving her cheese quesadillas with avocado's and hanging out with grandma Pat and grandpa Bear all day!

So it was definitely worth looking for a last minute steal so that we could join Pat and Barry on their vacation. Thanks again for such a wonderful trip!
