A Baby Shower
On Saturday it was my baby shower and 'oh boy (or girl)', what a fun time! Cindy hosted it at her place and soon enough we were all in great company chit chatting, sewing (?!), scrapbooking, mingling and eating. Plus it was a beautiful sunny day that we were able to also hang outside on Cindy and Chad's new deck - can't wait for more summer BBQ's (*ahem) over there! :)
Everyone contributed a little sewing project toward a baby mobile for the crib. They were given felt, needles, cotton, stuffing and a template to then sew something together and stuff, which eventually will be put together for our little baby to admire and ponder over.
Then little miss creative (that'd be Cindy) put on a cool, high tech game for everyone to participate in. It was a take on Cranium where everyone was split into three teams. For each round, a member from each team was designated to participate in either a humdinger, gnilleps (spelling backwords!), cloodle and sculptorades. They then READ the answer that I had to guess using 3 d glasses! (This is where the high tech comes in)... so to a normal eye, you couldn't decipher what the answer was until you read it using the 3D glasses (unless of course you're like some people, (*ahem Shannan!) who can read those type of things without the 3d glasses. It was a ton of fun - everything relating to baby. The hardest was trying to spell 'epidural' backwards in 10 seconds and trying to decipher Pauline's, "Ice Ice Baby' humdinger! :)
Lots of fun, I think everyone got a kick out of it and it definitely made great use of Cindy and Chad's brand new TV... looking good, looking good! :)
It was such a great weekend and I'm really thankful for all my friends and family who've been there to support us throughout this fun, special and exciting times. Everyone was so generous in spending the time with me on Saturday, as well as the great gifts that our baby is going to love and enjoy.
I'm really looking forward to the baby times ahead and for having everyone be a part of our baby's life. And like a friend had mentioned in her card, it's great to know we have so many babysitters on hand! :)
