James & Lena's Wedding

This past weekend we headed to Mayne Island to celebrate James & Lena's Wedding. The weather was a little on the overcast and colder side, but luckily on Saturday afternoon, the skies just opened up and it was part of the gorgeous setting for their wedding. The ceremony was held outdoors at the Georgina Point Heritage Park and Lighthouse. Congrats to Lena & James! Even their dog, Monty (full name, Montague von Tickleworth) came out in full attire!

For the reception, it was held at the Community Centre and under a huge white tent, very cute and intimate setting. The centrepieces had some really beautiful orange and red dahlias on them, with matching brown tableclothes - so pretty!

Mayne Island is quite tiny, you can literally drive around the whole island in 15 minutes! The best part is there are tons of great waterviews, so most of the houses have amazing views! We stayed in a private cottage with Pauline, Geram, Miguel and Tetie. The place was great and the owner was so friendly and very accommodating. Lucky for us, we were allowed to stay in the cottage most of Sunday since it was raining all day and our ferry home wasn't until 8pm! (The other option was an 8am ferry but that was a little too early!). Anyway, if you decide to go to Mayne, let me know and I'll give you the website of the place we stayed at. It had great sunset views of the water!

We managed to go and 'sightsee' a little... we would've really liked to have gone hiking or kayaking but unfortunately it was a little too rainy for us... instead we settled for boardgames and movies at the cottage!
