Welcome to the Thirties...

Okay, it's now official - I have joined the 30's and goodbye 20's! Today, I celebrate my 30th with my twin friend, Karen! I met Karen when we were 18, wow, is it twelve years already?! We were both at a mutual friend's birthday dinner where we started talking about our 'next' birthday and how we'd be able to get into the clubs and stuff - after a few questions we narrowed it down and found out that we had the exact same birthday! Now Karen lives in Calgary, so we couldn't quite celebrate together, but Karen, if you're reading... Happy 30th! ( I think this pic was taken about 10 years ago, woweee, short hair days!)

Tonight we went out for a delicious dinner at a place in the West End called 'Tapastree'. Barry and Pat came down from Invermere to celebrate my birthday which made it all extra fun. The restaurant is definitely a recommendation - the food was fantastic. It's based on tapas (small share plates). We each chose two tapas to share so we could taste a bit of everything - unbelievably delicious! We started with tomato and boccocini salads, and then had scallops, salmon, halibut, beef tenderloin, mushrooms, flat iron steak and calimari - all made so uniquely and oh have I mentioned delicious! It was a great evening and topped with some yummy apple pie for dessert! Ooooh la la, definitely would go back again! It was nice to go with the 4 of us so that we could try a whole bunch of dishes. Barry & Pat, thanks again for coming down to celebrate my birthday with me!
It's been a great start so far and it's just the beginning of the weekend! :)
