All in a Day!

Yesterday we woke up in Croatia, had breakfast and lunch in Italy, dinner in London, and then arrived and slept in Spain! Insane, yes, but we got to experience an Amazing Race type of day!

Our bus ride from Opatija, Croatia into Trieste, Italy took about 2.5 hours. Pretty uneventful, although, we did get a stamp from Slovenia on our passports for driving through! While in Trieste, we found a cafe to indulge in a chocolate croissaint and a cappuccino. By the way, our new thing is to sit and have cappuccino´s... yeah, coffee... it´s not our usual thing, but it´s just oh so good! (I can see how it can get addictive).

The rest of the day was pretty much checking in for a flight, waiting for the flight, then taking the flight... we did this twice. In order to take up on the 1 euro (plus tax) specials, we had to fly to Barcelona via London, insane, but good on the pocket!

We arrived into Girona, which is about an hour out of Barcelona. The bus got us finally into Barcelona around midnight. Finding the apartment wasn´t so bad, but once we got to the place, it was pitch black and we had to climb four flights of stairs and didn´t know where the light was! Quite scary, especially being in an unknown place. Luckily the guy who´s apartment we were renting heard us and helped turn on the lights. Phew!
The apartment is great, there are about 6 other rooms, and it´s really nicely decorated. Finally settled in and ready to take on Barcelona during the day!
