Happy Halloween

Oh one of THE most fun events to look forward to this month... Halloween!  Growing up in SA, we never celebrated Halloween so the concept of dressing up and trick or treating or even pumpkin carving never existed in our 'good ol days :).   So, it is so exciting being able to experience all this, especially through the eyes of your 2 and 4 year old!  This year we had Nora, our Cinderella Princess, and Lily, our cutie patutie owl!

Big fun on Sunday at the Kai's Spooktacular Party!  Thanks to Steve and Cherie for hosting, always so awesome to share with all our friends and their kids.
Always fun getting the group shot... Lily having a little h'owl'ing moment :)
Nora loved that there was another Cinderella at the party... her and Kaila had fun playing together
On Halloween day, Nora and Nina got together before preschool for their little Halloween playdate... and once again, very thrilled to have another Cinderella to play with!
The Two Cinderella's, Nora and Nina
Parents were invited to join in the special Halloween Circle Time and snack time at preschool, so it was cute to see Nora (with another Cinderella friend, Juno) hanging out with her little friends eagerly awaiting the green jello with candy worms on it!

Then it was Trick or Treating time in Yaletown!  The rain did not stop the girls, they got their rain boots on, umbrella's out and were ready to take on the town!  It was really awesome to see so many families out and about, it can get pretty hectic on the sidewalk, so stick to the side of the streets with the bigger sidewalks.  So neat to see ALL the retail shops participating... we honestly could only do one street up and down, otherwise, we'd be eating candy until next Halloween!

Rain Rain go away, that's ok, we'll still play!

Nora was a fantastic big sister, leading the way, taking Lily by the hand into the stores and showing her what to do.  Such priceless moments watching the two of them run out with the biggest smiles on their faces, ready to show us what they got!

The night did not end there!  No sir-eee, when we go all out, we go all out!  We then drove over to Steve and Cherie's place for more fun in the 'burbs!   This time they welcomed all the trick or treaters and I didn't think they'd get as excited or if not, MORE excited to see who was coming to the door! We just LOVED living in that moment, watching the kids faces light up as the door bell, they'd run right over and be so excited to hand out the candy.  Gotta love being a kid!

The next morning, it was too cute... Nora woke on her own and slipped out quietly into the lounge to go and 'sort' her candy.  She came in to wake me to show me all the different types and told me she thought she got more lollipops!  Eeeeek busted.  I had gone through their candy to give Trav a whole bunch to take to work and didn't think we needed that many lollipops ;)
Counting their candy!
