Thanksgiving

We had such a fun time over Thanksgiving weekend that I need to make sure I post some pictures so I don't forget about it. We went over to visit Grammy and Grampy in Courtenay, and had a fantastic Thanksgiving with them, the Legers and the Adamsons. Nora had a blast hanging out with her big cousins Maya and Angelina... we hardly saw her, they were always busy playing or doing something together. It's very very sweet to see how both the bigger cousins love to take care of our girls.

Highlights included:

The Pumpkin Patch - Nora quickly learned what 'pumpkin guts' were and couldn't help but go around with Angelina, tracking all the beat up pumpkins and shouting out, "pumpkin guts, pumpkin guts"!



Playing on the Jungle Gym - if there's a way for Nora to make my heart stop is her adventures on the jungle gym. At the beginning of summer it was all about the monkey bars, well this weekend, she tried to master the art of climbing on the top of the monkey bars... as well as doing the rock climbing wall. Just has to follow her big cousins! And Lily, quite content in playing with the sand and gravel and laughing with the girls whenever they'd burst into giggles of laughter :)

Playing School and Zoo Animals - often the girls would be in one of the bedrooms playing so nicely together. One of the most popular plays was to 'play school' where each of them would get turns being the teacher and student. At one point, when Maya and Angelina went out for a bit, Nora was the teacher for Travis and James... pretty cute stuff... especially when Nora kept having to tell the boys to be quiet, stop talking and to keep reading their books quietly! Stickler for rules that one ;)

Our favourite experience was when the adults were invited to the 'zoo' where we were given zoo bucks to enter their room... and there, behind made up pillow and curtain cages were our very own Angelina elephant and Nora lion. It was super cute as they interacted with us, even including a running of the animals as they broke free from their cages! All very well planned... thanks Maya!

And then the Thanksgiving dinner... what a feast! Grammy and Grampy did an amazing job with the turkey and all it's fixings, what a delicious meal... all put together so nicely and calmly with a bazillion family members all over the place... it was so yummy, not to forget the mmmm mmmm apple pie!

So much to be thankful of! Good times.
