6 Year Anniversary!
This weekend, Travis and I celebrated our six year anniversary! Nora enjoyed going through our wedding album as she and I picked a few pics from that special day to put on our wall... she just loved it, and I just loved hearing her say, "Oh wow, so gorgeous Mom!" or "This is beautiful!". Yes. Definitely a beautiful and fun wedding day for sure... and even better having to re-live it with our girls now.
This weekend, we also took our first getaway to Seattle without the girls! It's the first time we've left Lily overnight, but with her big sister Nora and their wonderful Grandma Pat... the three had a ball without us, I think hardly even noticing we were gone! :)
We had a great time and forgot what it was like to just hang out for an extended period of time without interruptions, taking our 'own' time in doing whatever we wanted to do, sleeping in and just hopping in and out of the car in no time! Another reason for getting away was to head to the Tulalip outlet mall for some much needed shopping for the whole family... couldn't get it all done on Saturday, so just had to stop in on the way home as well. :)
We stayed at the Westin... which when we got a great deal with Priceline's bidding for a 4 star hotel, we thought we had it made... but be careful... you get what you pay for. So without having to rant over such a nice post... let's just say... I think we had THE worst possible room in that hotel (and that was after asking for a different room b/c we thought that room was the worst room!), and a not-so-nice-experience with dealing with parking / valet. Anyways, we don't let those pesky issues ruin the weekend.
We had a very very delicious dinner at Dahlia Lounge where I thoroughly enjoyed their dungenous crab cakes and their very popular home made doughnuts... mmm mmm! And well because we're not quite the bar hopping or clubbing type... we enjoyed going to a movie together, which we hadn't seen one since earlier this year! :)
This morning we walked around Pike Place public market and boy is it ever delicious over there. We wanted to just try everything that we walked past... but we did try an apple cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing from the Piroshky Piroshky Bakery (Russian bakery), and some fresh juicy and tasty organic pluots (a plum and apricot breed), and for the road we bought some ham & cheese baguettes and a mouth-watering pain au chocolate! OH MY we could go back every day if we could for some more delicious treats.
It was a great getaway and close enough that I didn't feel too far away from the girls. We sure missed them a lot and were just SO happy to see their faces when we walked through the door... oh the love! But it was good to get away and to enjoy the time together.
So, Happy Anniversary Trav! Here's to many many more memories together!
