Happy Birthday Trav

It was Trav's birthday on Wednesday, so we've been having a birthday week!

Starting last Sunday, we had a few friends over for a birthday brunch. I made an overnight french toast that we could just pop in the oven in the morning... best way to get things done in the morning!

On Trav's actual birthday on Wednesday, he took the day off from work and we ventured on a road trip down south to the outlet mall! We thought it could go either way with the kids and luckily we have such awesome girls that it was so much fun! Both did really well for the drive, I had to provide entertainment for some parts, but no major wailing which is always nice and peaceful. Trav and I took turns with the girls as the other went to shop. Surprisingly enough, Nora managed to keep entertained with the mini play areas and the water fountains while Lily just chilled and hung out in her stroller (only got a little antsy toward the end, when it was clearly time to leave and take a nap!).(Nora figured out that I could get change from the bills, so when Trav said he didn't have any money for the rides, she told him to find me b/c I had money)

On the drive home, we didn't want the girls to nap all the way home and then be wide awake for bedtime, so we managed to stop at Milestones in South Surrey (just after the border) and had a really yummy family dinner together! So happy that it all worked out and we did it... plus we got a lot of great deals too! (Yay for the dollar on par with the US).

Then, tonight we had our family birthday dinner with the Kai's. We made roast beef with mash, gravy and beans and then topped it off with a chocolate birthday cake with cream cheese icing... delish! It was fun putting the dinner together and surprisingly, it wasn't too too hectic when we had to put it all together on the table (usually, it's mayhem and we're always late in terms of timing)... but somehow it all worked out, yay!

Having kids is awesome and makes birthdays so much fun, especially when it comes time to blowing the candles. Just love it when they can participate and enjoy.

Happy Birthday Trav / Daddy... we love you so so much! You're so fun to be with and we love it when we can do so many cool things together. You're the best!
