Our new home...

Whew, what a busy week in our lives!

The actual physical move went fairly well, I cannot believe how much STUFF we have! We managed to fill a 5ton truck to the brim, it was insane, where did everything come from?! We said we would try not to buy more stuff but we lost a lot of built in storage, so this past week has been all about trying to see how we can better organize everything... which means buying more stuff to put the stuff in :)

It's been quite an emotional and exhausting move. We were a little disappointed in our move-in experience and the state of the condo, as well as the overall building logistics. We made a very concerted effort to make sure that we left our old condo in verygood condition (it was cleaned top to bottom, everything removed and minor repairs taken care of!), so it was very disappointing to arrive to our new place to see miscellaneous items from the previous tenant tucked away in the closets, dirty rags still in the washing machine, new dryer that had yet to be installed, cupboards not quite spotless, and a bunch of broken items that now need to be repaired or replaced. It's been a stressful and crazy week of working with the landlord to resolve various issues, figuring out the logistics of the building (which are terrible and NOT stroller friendly, a big no no in our lives!) and not to mention unpacking and figuring out the best storage solutions.

So, before this becomes a rant, it has definitely been an eye opener for us, especially in terms of what to look out for and what to expect in places to live.

But we're on the up and up! It's been a very productive weekend, all the boxes are unpacked, we made a trip (or two!) to Ikea and we're making progress on various storage solutions (we SO miss our panty and walk-in closet!!), and the best part... we've finished Nora and Lily's new playroom and we love it!

Nora's been so awesome with the move. Maybe it's because she's rediscovering all her toys but she's starting to really play by herself and keep herself occupied while we unpack and reorganize. It was fun showing her the new playroom... it was like Christmas, toys and new stuff everywhere :)

By far, the best part and biggest selling point of this apartment is it's view! We overlook David Lam Park and False Creek and it's just too beautiful and very calming... a perfect way to relax at the end of a long day.
