An Early Christmas

Besides the snow and the complicated flight schedule to get home, there was the main reason for our trip, an early Christmas!

Since Naomi and Alex are heading to Kenya soon, they'd be missing Christmas with the family this year, so we all decided to head up to Invermere for our celebrations. Christmas dinner was on Friday with all the yummy fixings - turkey, mash, gravy, stuffing, yams and cranberries - mmmm mmm mmm, not to mention all the tasty baking treats that Pat had made for all of us!

It was funny b/c Trav went into town on Friday morning, and saw people going about their regular daily routine and even thought to himself how odd it was that people were all working on Christmas eve!

We had a great time! Trav also brought up the new Nintendo Wii and got the whole family playing! It was easy to figure out, and Maya is quite the bowler!

On Saturday we took a trip out to Fairmont Hot Springs, and had a nice relaxing hot soak. They're outdoor springs, so getting from the washrooms to the pools in your bathing suit is quite an experience, you go from really really cold to really really warm, quite the spa experience!

So part one of Christmas is now done and Naomi and Alex are soon on their way to Kenya to check out the Serengeti, Mount Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar!
