Our One Year Anniversary

WOW, has it really been a year since Trav and I tied the knot! Time goes by so quickly, but I must admit, we have had a really wonderful first year of being married together. We continue to have fun silly times together, and have had many fun adventures over the past year, including this awesome trip! This was definitely a perfect way to spend our one year anniversary.

The actual day was pretty much in transit. We checked out of our apartment, and spend most of the day in Barcelona wondering around. We visited one of Gaudi´s works called the Casa Batllo (pronounced like Casa Bati-yo)... Gaudi had built this house for the Batllo Family, what a cool place! This is on the rooftop...

Then we took a 12 hour overnight train from Barcelona to Granada! We got a trenhotel, meaning we also booked a compartment with a bed so we could at least get a decent night´s rest before taking on Granada! It wasn´t too bad, and before we knew it, we were in Granada.

We walked around the Albayzin area which is quite hilly, with cobblestone roads and cute cafes and kebab restaurants everywhere. It has great views of the Alhambra too. We hope to get into the Alhambra tomorrow, not sure, we didn´t book in advance in time so most of the tickets are sold out, so we are going to take a chance early morning tomorrow.

But we´re pleased to say we chose an awesome restaurant to try out the cuisine... Trav tried the Gazpacho (which is an Andalucian cold soup), very yummy! And then of course we tried the paella, which was exactly what we wanted... so overall, a VERY good experience!
